visited the GoodFood&Wine show held at the Melbourne Exhibition centre today. and i was utterly dissapointed. being an asian in an angmo country you would expect or be looking forward to see "angmo" food cuisines. however, asia had taken oer the place. the show was dominated by Asian food/ products. even the chefs were cooking stir-fry pork. to my dismay, i could not find a single italiano stall. aside from asian products, the other half of the exhibition was dominated by Wine stalls. darn alcoholics. as expected, the wine section was dominated by the "angmos" happily sipping away their alcohol in their tiny alcoholic crystal. out of the whole show, i managed to see 2 celebrity chef/ barista. well, we saw the barista who hosts a tv show about coffee. i remember mom and dad watching the show, and wondering how DOES he manage to make coffee with his hair in the way. he has a way of preparing a latte tilting his head at an angle with his hair dropping on the side. damn "yaoyeng". and today he was at it again. then the other chef was the editor of the SuperFoodIdeas magazine, and i think producer of the ReadySteadyCook show. she was teaching the angmos how to be the best stir-fryers in the country.
but then again, it was a good experience. knowing to not go ever again. sigh, i should had book a seat for the celebrity cook show. apparently they had celebrity chefs such as Kylie Kwong, Bill Granger, Donna Hay, Curtis Stone and Ben O'something. But ANyway... atleast we know that african liquor tastes like cough medicine. bleargh!
