at dinner time, i decided to have it with one of my colleagues. its unfortunate that he falls under the soon to be leaving category. but all the more i did not mind sharing to him my thoughts about the lunch appointment. everyone assumed i was getting a promotion or even a raised. but sad to say it wasn't in fact it was hardly about anything at all. a well spent $50 meal. after talking to my colleague and hearing his perspective about my view of the office. i dawn on me that i might be making a huge deal over nothing. i guess it's true that at the end of the day i am still young and in-experience. and in any case, i should not expect so much from the bosses knowing where to place me in the office, when i myself am not planning to stay for the long term. i have already begun planning my next endeavor in the next 5 years. and at the end of the day, my purpose for being in the company is get my share of experience. i am fortunate to be given so much opportunity (gosh, i suddenly remember that i owe the committee my write up for the designer's forum!) . all i need to do is to prove that i deserve to be given such a chance and to make the most of it for my own benefit. once i've had enough of sucking the companies resources. then i shall bid my farewell and be gone. haha. better not speak too soon. who knows i might be stuck here for the next 10 years or so.
anyway, i bought a new CD. its the soundtrack from the movie- Once. pretty good actually. and it really sounds very good when your in a melancholy mood like i am.
managed to catch "Sex and the City" the movie over the weekend. don't ask me why. Even i can't explain it to myself how on earth i got dragged into watching it. i wanted to watch indy jones... the manly stuff. but it seems like im the last person on earth who have not seen the movie, thus im "kaki-less". But it was 2 and 1/2 hours of girl fantasyland torture. its actually pretty sappy. but not to totally write the whole thing off... i did find the funny scene quite funny.
damn you sarah jessica parker! i had to look away from the screen a few times just to try to keep my emotions in tacked. goodness me... i still think its better off left as a tv series rather than be made into a movie. it's the sort of show you'd accompany your girlfriend to watch in closed doors, i.e. at home. weird... totally weird.
here's the lyrics one of the songs from my newly purchased... very nice.
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along
So glad i've found my musical/theater/concert buddy. well, its him and his wife, so its the 3 of us. pity i have to give Steve Tyrell a miss this coming weekend. well family comes first i guess.
Sonny Rollins concert was superb... well he was great, but i didnt think the same for his band members... they were good no doubt, but i was hoping it was solo concert. well, atleast i can say i've been to one of the last great musical legends.
