its a friday evening. the cats and dogs came out to play right in the midst of our journey back home. i should be doing my model, i feel inspired to finish it up since now with my newly purchased base had already done half of the work for me.
it better! cost me a bomb!! ugh.
finally my first real theatrical experience. went to watch this play by the NewYorkCityPlayers- the Good Samritan, or more like the irony of being a good samaritan. its true... nice guys finish last. everything was near perfect, 'cept for my bowel problem. NEVER EVER should you eat expired fish the day before watching a play. its aweful... i wanted to die. plus there wasnt an interval session inbetween. haha! well atleast in melbourne i managed to watch a jazz performance (instrumental improvisation), theatre, and art exhibitions. i really should remind myself to go visit the SPAN gallery, and i must not miss the tate gallery exhibit. i should walk down the art precinct area more often.
anyway, the best part of the whole theatrical experience was the set piece. i loved it. its so artificially real, every detail of it was well thought. when i was scanning through the space i was thinking back on the 2 sets i've done for ocf... perfect murder & jazz night. ugh. give me a hundred thousand and i would still probably not be able do a very good job on it.
okilar, but i thought the interview after the play was boring. what the heck were they saying? the answers were so cliche, all artist would tell you what they are doing is totally the opposite from mainstream. every creator claims not to do/ create something of the ordinary... who does anyway?! no houselights... creating an interaction between the audience, we architects do that everyday, proclaiming that the inside of our buildings has a relationship between the outside... interacting dialogue with nature/ the adjacent context. Back to the set piece, i do give them thumbs up for that. i've been pretty interested in set designs ever since my involvement in them and seeing the exhibition on Steven Butler's theater designs at the Bendigo art gallery. an alternative option if/when my architectural dream crumble and fall.
oki, what the heck did i just wrote about?! basically the play was interestingly good.
lately i'm suddenly into R&B again. i still think K-ci & Jojo is one of the ultimate R&B dinamic duo. they are unique. been downloading some of the passe artists like... Stevie wonder, Lauryn hill, New Edi, Jon B, Babyface, HumanNature, All4One, Blackstreet, etc. to me R&B = Basketball. the early high school days... thats what happens if you mix around with koreans.
