antifreeze & aeroplanes...

today was our first design studio class. lots to reflect upon as we begin on the project. i didnt manage to get my first choice. darn it! there goes my chance in winning 20,000 euros. sigh. but i guest its all destine to be in this studio. the theme is on forms and platforms. the studio leader is another old fella whos had heaps of experience/ stories to share. he's more of a scatter brain, but it could be because of language. he's from slovenia. but he seems interesting and passionate. for one thing, he's participated in almost more than 30 competitions in his life. man thats alot. wonder if he had ever won any of them. it was hard to get what he was trying to say, only bits and pieces of it. all that is important is to know that Light is 3 dimensional, and the platform to all forms. and from what i gathered in during the whole introduction is that theres heaps to do. form = models. lots of 'em. well atleast 50% of the students are familliar faces. we all can stress together.

ugh. the kitchen really stinks. i think something died in there.
we've finally gotten ourselves a (tiny) fridge and (leaking) washing machine. not too bad. atleast it purchasing it was convenient. walkable distance. the owner was a pretty nice and friendly chap. and he collects air jordans. he's got almost all of them. apparently he's been collecting airjordans since 1993. so tempted to just grab a pair from the stack. we'll wait till he sells his new fridge then we attack. he's quite a big fella.

no class tomorrow. woohoo! i dropped business law sub because apparently i have not fulfilled my history sub quota. in the end i decided to waive PBL and keep my timber furniture workshop for next semester and take up Asian Architecture. its the only history sub that im vaguely interested. there isnt much history sub choices in the second semester. the ones that interest me i've already completed. sucks. nevermind. i'll just have to befriend one of them folks in PBL class. well, as long as i dont have to take ED then thats fine with me. and i hope it'll stay that way until i graduate.
